Afternoon tea is more than just an upscale meal or fancy drink! Sure, that is the main component of the event—and the delicious, delectable part at that—but the whole experience of afternoon tea is what makes it so special.
In the long-standing tradition of afternoon tea, women get dressed up in their best outfits to enjoy a selection of finger sandwiches, scones, pastries, and maybe even a light soup or salad. They also have tea (of course!), in all its varieties from herbal to green to black. And it’s all served on dainty porcelain dishes with delicate tableware.

Tea dates can be such a fun, social and feminine event to do with your friends! Afternoon tea is all about socializing and taking time out to enjoy yourself and your closest girlfriends, which is why you often see it as a “girly” event.
It’s all about taking a breath, being with your friends in a chic environment, and enjoying a nice meal together.
Our afternoon tea featured dainty finger sandwiches, such as cucumber and salmon, served on small triangle-shaped pieces of bread. It also had miniature fruit tarts and bite-sized tarts with fillings and scone options that included plain or fruit with clotted cream (a soft spreadable form of whipped cream) and jam.
If you’re looking for something local to do or someplace special to take your gal pals for some fun afternoon tea, this place is definitely it! It’s also perfect for special occasions—this is just one of the many times I got to experience Afternoon Tea at Chateau des Fleurs because it’s that dang good!
