If you’re picking the restaurant for your next date night or dinner with friends, let me put Percy on your radar. A gorgeous patio in downtown Boise, sourdough focaccia to share, and a dinner where all four of us cleared our plates? We had a lot to love.
We ordered steaks, short rib and pasta, and everyone was passing bites around. So if you’ve been curious about Percy, here’s what we tried and why I’d go back.
What We Ate
We started with sourdough focaccia and grilled artichoke to share. Both were a hit at our table, and we were already passing bites around before dinner even came out.
For dinner, we ordered skirt steak, steak frites, short rib and sourdough pappardelle. Clearly, we weren't all in the mood for the same thing, but we still ended up tasting everyone's order.
The skirt steak came with cheesy green chili rice, and the steak frites covered the steak-and-fries craving. Then there was short rib with mashed potatoes and the pappardelle with short rib bolognese and burrata. Yes, we had short rib two ways at the table. I couldn't tell you to skip any of them. We all loved our dinners, loved trying each other's, and literally cleared our plates. Going with friends definitely has its perks when everyone's willing to share a bite.
You Might Already Know Their Sister Restaurants
Percy is part of Wylder Hospitality Group, the same group behind The Wylder, Certified Kitchen + Bakery, Roosevelt Market, Wyld Child, Rosa and Sidequest. If you've been to a few of those, here's another one to add to your dinner plans.
The menu also includes local ingredients, like wagyu beef and Idaho cheddar in the burger, along with seasonal produce. We went the steak-and-pasta route this time, but there's more to choose from if you're in the mood for something different.
A Few Things Before You Go
Percy is at 400 S. 4th Street in downtown Boise. Dinner runs Monday-Saturday 4pm-9:30pm and Sunday 4pm-8:30pm. You can make a reservation through their website.
Here's a parking tip: Percy patrons can use the ICCU surface lot at the northeast corner of 5th and Broad for free after 6pm on weekdays and all day on weekends. Just check their parking map and the posted signs, and don't leave your car overnight.
