Why You Need To Visit Caldwell, Idaho – Eats, Drinks and so much to do!

The town of Caldwell itself has some really cute shops and restaurants that are dog friendly! You can take your pooch with you on your trip to Caldwell and not feel guilty about leaving them at home.

It’s about 30 minutes from Boise, so it’s not too far out of the way, but far enough that it’s a nice getaway. It’s perfect for a quick afternoon drive for anyone who wants to spend their time eating incredible food and even do some tasting wine after! My husband and I love the small town vibes.

Caldwell Idaho: A Place You’ll Fall in Love With

A part of Caldwell is the plethora of activities you can do here! On the outskirts of Boise is a mecca for lovers of wine, gourmet food, and breathtaking views. It’s the perfect size so you can get out and see all it offers in one afternoon.

Here are some of my favorite things to do in Caldwell:

Wine: Known as the Sunnyslope Wine Trail, it’s home to 16 wineries and vineyards that offer an array of amenities, including intimate tasting rooms, award-winning wines, and delectable farm-to-fork dining.

Shopping: there are tons of cute little stores all downtown Caldwell where you can buy artisan soaps, handmade signs, clothing, and more!

Cute date night: Amano is a craft Mexican kitchen located right downtown. They have great music, delicious drinks, a friendly staff, and some of the best food you’ll find in Idaho!

Amano Craft Mexican Food

We visited Amano in Caldwell and had an amazing dinner – the Brussel sprouts there are seriously so delicious! They are served with a housemade chamoy and topped with candied pecans. YUM!

The restaurant is in an industrial building with tons of seating, but we recommend making reservations because it’s usually super busy!

Amano’s menu is made up of handcrafted tortillas, cocktails, and dishes that highlight the local harvest of Idaho – ingredients are locally sourced whenever possible. (You know I love supporting local!)

I was pretty excited about the guacamole, and well, thankfully, I was NOT disappointed! The guac was wonderful – it had LOTS of avocado chunks (which I personally love) and pretty minimal onions (Skylar and I both dislike onions, unpopular opinion I know).

The cocktails, on the other hand – were SO unique!

I ordered something called “La Amorosa” – it had grapefruit and rose vodka with rosemary simple syrup and topped with sparkling rose, and the combination was delightful!

It was also impressive that every ingredient used was locally grown, making the flavor really unique. It’s worth checking out if you’re ever in the Boise area!
