There's nothing quite like the thrill of a remodel. The planning, the possibility, the chance to make a space truly your own. As I found out recently, sometimes the best motivation to kickstart such a project is a little... unconventional. With a two-week trip to Europe fast approaching, we realized it was high time to start the guest room remodel we'd been dreaming of for over a year. After all, the thought of our animal sitter enjoying a fresh, new space was all the motivation we needed.

Over the course of four days, we transformed the room with a fresh coat of paint, a process which seemed daunting but was undeniably worth every brush stroke. We opted for Snowbound by Sherwin Williams, a bright and true white color that breathed new life into the space. (A big shout out to my sister-in-law, Stacey - the real MVP for recommending it!)

Paint Details: Walls: Snowbound Cashmere (Flat) & Trim: Snowbound Emerald (Satin)

We chose a flat finish for the walls and a satin finish for the trims, both in Snowbound. The goal was to make the room appear larger and more modern, a stark contrast to the previous dark beige color. Pro tip for those planning on painting over carpet: get yourself a tapered blade. It slips right under the wall, preventing paint from going astray.

Next on the list was the bedding! We hit the jackpot at Wayfair, where we found the perfect bed frame, sheets, pillows, and comforter. We were on a mission to create a seamless transition from the guest bathroom to the bedroom, so we matched the comforter quilt with the bathroom's yellow and gold tones. And here's a little secret - although the bed frame and mattress are queen size, I went for a king size comforter. Why, you ask? Well, I absolutely love the way it generously drapes over the sides giving it a sleek look.

Our remodel journey didn't stop there. We installed a gorgeous, black finish, LED Ceiling Fan from Wayfair. Not only was it easy to install, but the quality is impressive, especially for the price. The fan, complete with an integrated 4000K LED daylight, elevated the room's aesthetic and functionality. (There were so many options for the fan and lighting!)

The final touch was swapping out old switches and outlets with matte black, rounded ones from Amazon. It's all in the details, right? To ensure a cohesive look, we even updated the door stoppers and hinges to match!

Remodeling can be a whirlwind, but the feeling of seeing a room come together, bit by bit, is truly rewarding. Here's to creating spaces that feel like home, one remodel at a time. (You can find all my linked items here on my LiketoKnowit.)

Stay tuned for our guest bathroom remodel updates!
