Are you looking for a new spot to grab drinks in Boise? VooDoo Cellar is a great option! They are a locally and family owned unique pub, located in the space formerly occupied by Space Bar. (Just head down the staircase and you will see the Voodoo Cellar signs!) This is a perfect spot to go for some drinks and activities, bring your friends or have a fun date night!
Their pub is inside the Adelmann building, which is one of the oldest commercial buildings in the state of Idaho. Long rumored to be haunted, it was originally built in 1906 and an Idaho architectural history website claims its basement housed a brothel where a sex worker was slain by a patron! (Talk about spooky!)
In recent decades tenants and customers who visit the building have reported a wide range of unexplainable events ranging from minor disturbances like footsteps and other noises to more extreme occurrences like coming back to find the contents of a room completely rearranged. (How crazy is that right?! We can’t wait to go back to see if we hear or notice anything!)
Weekly Fun Activities & Entertainment:
- Terror Tuesdays: Enjoy a classic horror films with movie style popcorn all night! Make sure to get there early for Trivia, the winning group gets a round of free drinks!
- Comedy Wednesdays: Where you can watch some of the area’s newest comics with no cover charge!
- Beer Pong Thursdays! Don’t miss out on a change to win on Thursdays in beer pong, free entry and winners get $100 bar tap grand prize! (We tried this and had so much fun, turns out I am still terrible at beer pong, but it didn’t stop my from trying lol.)
- Make sure to try out their Video and Arcade Games. My girlfriend Monica and I had a lot of fun playing (If you’re wondering, I definitely won, sorry M!), my favorite game was Mario Brothers because it’s such a classic!
The underground atmosphere at VooDoo Cellar gives a New Orleans vibe, with dim lighting and scull decor, and neon signs, it’s seriously such a cool space. Indulge in their 13 Beer Taps as well as their Bourbon Street Boozy Slushies, available in 3 flavors: 44 North Vodka Huckleberry Lemonade (my favorite!), 10 Barrel Brewing Mai Tai, and Beatbox Beverages Peach Piña Colada!
I was so impressed by their amazing service, the owners Jimmy and Dave are really rad guys. Check them out for a hauntingly good time and see why they’re the talk of the town! (P.s. They also have a daily happy hour from 5pm to 7pm!)
