Breathe Sweeter with Halotherapy

Last fire season I discovered a place that I just couldn’t believe I didn’t know existed, it’s called The Boise Salt Sanctuary. It’s this really cool, unique kind of spa that offers Halotherapy!

I went because my friend Amanda Prescott raved about how much she loved it. And let me tell you, she wasn’t lying. It was incredible!

Halotherapy Concept

Halotherapy is a whole body approach for respiratory health and hygiene. It’s a simple yet highly effective way to feel the benefits of cleaner, stronger lungs. The idea is that you breathe in air that’s been saturated with salt particles, which can help with various conditions, including skin and lungs and chronic stress.

The idea of a room so full of salt that you could “breathe salt” seems a little on the nose, but rest assured—the air in a halotherapy room is not so salty that you’ll feel like you’re drowning. The pleasant scent and the soft glow of the salt lamps will make you feel like you’re in a spa. It’s relaxing, but it’s also energizing!

In addition to feeling better after your session, you may notice that your skin is clearer and softer than usual. That’s because the microparticles of salt are able to reach deep into your pores and pull out dirt, oil, allergens, and even pathogens that have built up and been trapped there.

The Environment

The facility is a beautiful, quiet place with dedicated salt rooms where you can go in and breathe the salt air for 45 minutes.

My lungs feel so much better now that they have been cleansed by the halotherapy treatment. It’s an incredible feeling to breathe in the clean salt air as you sit in these large reclining chairs. Halotherapy is supposed to be good for more than just your lungs; it helps you relax when you are stressed out and even helps reduce skin problems like acne!

This place is just amazing. If you live in Boise, Idaho, or are visiting, then check out Halotherapy at @boisesaltsanctuary!
