Best Gelato in Boise: A European Tradition

If you’re looking for an authentic taste of Italy without hopping on a plane, let me point you straight to Black Market Gelateria. Nestled in the heart of Boise, this place is more than just a gelato shop - It’s an experience.

"So good, hard to believe it's legal". After one taste, you’ll see exactly why!

The Story Behind the Scoops

Right when you walk in, you’re hit with that old-world European charm. Think cozy café meets chic gelateria. We even got to chat with Spin, the founder and flavor genius behind it all. His story is what makes this spot even sweeter. After training under Europe’s top gelato masters, he brought that passion back home to Boise.

So Much More Than Gelato

Of course, the gelato is front and center - creamy, bold, and bursting with flavor. But Black Market is also a full production facility. They make handcrafted gelato and açaí bases right here, supplying some of your favorite local restaurants and cafés. Boise’s culinary scene wouldn’t be the same without them, even if you didn’t realize it.

They also serve Julius Meinl coffee, Vienna’s iconic roaster since 1862, alongside a few local pastries from Gaston’s Bakery. And their Austrian donuts? Actually imported straight from Europe.

Little Touches That Make a Big Difference

One of my favorite parts? No tipping. They keep it old-school with fair prices and hospitality that speaks for itself. It’s refreshingly simple! Come in, enjoy, and feel like family.

Ready to Taste for Yourself?

They’re open Tuesday through Saturday from 1pm to 9pm, and Sundays from 1pm to 7pm. You’ll find them at 2545 S Fry St., STE 110.

So, who are you grabbing a scoop with this weekend?
